DeKalb County includes part of Atlanta as well as separate cities such as Decatur, Brookhaven and Tucker. The county's community map makes that overlap explicit. For a crash described as being in Atlanta or near I-285, the city label and county label answer different geographic questions. Neither should be substituted for the name of the agency on the crash report.[3][4]

State Court civil division

The State Court of DeKalb County identifies Division A as its civil division. It accepts civil filings regardless of the amount, except matters within the Superior Court's exclusive jurisdiction. The division states that electronic filing is mandatory and provides a link to its filing portal. It also says public access to the portal is available at the courthouse during regular business hours.[1]

The court lists its courthouse on North McDonough Street in Decatur. The civil page also links court calendars and filing fees. Those are the relevant official resources for a court-record inquiry; a traffic-payment link on the same website should not be mistaken for the civil docket.[1]

County Police reports

DeKalb County Police's report instructions identify its Police Records office at 1960 West Exchange Place in Tucker. They provide an online BuyCrash route for accident reports and describe mail and in-person alternatives. The document asks for a police report number. Use those agency-specific instructions to identify the county record being requested.[2]
