Georgia 400, also called State Route 400, is the north-south road at the Transform 285/400 interchange. GDOT's undated overview describes the project's design for improvements to both SR 400 and I-285. It is separate from the SR 400 Express Lanes project extending north from the North Springs MARTA area. Distinguishing the two prevents an interchange description from being mistaken for the scope of the longer corridor project.[2][1]
Interchange improvements
The Transform 285/400 overview describes flyover ramps and collector-distributor lanes. GDOT places its SR 400 limits between Glenridge Connector and Spalding Drive and its I-285 limits between west of Roswell Road and east of Ashford Dunwoody Road. These limits identify the project area. The overview is used here for geography, not as evidence of continuing construction.[2]
GDOT's GeoPI entry for interchange project 0000784 lists its status as Complete but supplies no work-completion date. That status is distinct from the dated schedule for the separate SR 400 Express Lanes project. The undated interchange overview should not be read as a current construction notice.[3][1]
Express lanes north of North Springs
The March 2026 SR 400 FAQ describes planned tolled lanes from North Springs MARTA Station toward McFarland Parkway in Forsyth County. Its schedule anticipated a spring 2026 construction start and opening in 2031, expressly subject to change. This entry does not treat those dates as confirmation of present construction progress.[1]
Truck-routing context
Section 40-6-51 includes Georgia 400 among the highways with restrictions on specified vehicles inside I-285. The statute allows listed trips such as pickups and deliveries inside the Perimeter. A route-compliance question therefore requires more than the observation that a truck traveled on Georgia 400.[4]
